Matricel company development

Matricel GmbH was founded in 2001 by bringing together expertise from university in the field of collagen scaffold manufacturing technology and from industry in the field of collagen isolation technology according to current regulatory requirements (MDD, ISO 13485). The company is located in Herzogenrath, Germany. The proximity to Aachen University of Technology (RWTH Aachen) and its University Clinic and Medical Faculty facilitates the close collaborations with these institutions. The range of applications is very broad and includes the medical disciplines of orthopedics, dentistry, implantology, periodontology, surgery, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, dermatology and urology. Matricel cooperates in a network of university clinics, clinically oriented research groups, academic institutions and research-active companies in biotechnology, medical technology and pharmaceuticals. Matricel GmbH has established very close cooperations with Genzyme Corporation, Boston, USA  in the field of articular cartilage regeneration and with curasan AG, Kleinostheim, Germany in the field of bone regeneration.
